low oil pressure at idle

hi i have an oil pressure warning at idle. I have changed the oil filter and oil, geniune BMW mini parts. Changed the oil pressure switch. i have also done timing chain and replaced oil pump chain. cleaned oil pump and pick up also. the oil filter housing has also been off and cleaned when i did the gaskets. running out of ideas. Does the car have an oil pressure sensor that is readable on the OBD port? i have a wifi obd reader but it doesnt list oil pressure.

There have been other posts concerning low oil pressure at idle. In those posts, members suggested removing the oil pressure sensor and connecting a pressure gauge to the oil pressure sensor port on the driver's side of the cylinder head. Run the engine at idle; oil pressure at idle should be 3-7 PSI. If your pressure is within limits, change the low pressure switch.

I'll look for a PID for oil pressure and let you know.

Thanks for the reply. I have changed the pressure switch already. Both perform the same. I have ordered a gauge to connect. I have also removed the oil cap and there is oil present but it wouldn’t say if was that active and wasn’t spurting out of the filler hole.

I connected my i70Pro and there isn't an oil pressure PID in the menu; I believe MINI added that with the 2011 model cars. Oil pressure isn't available on my Scan Gauge either.

Keep in mind the oil pressure switch you purchased may be faulty, or set to operate in the wrong range. The gauge will tell you for sure what's going on.
