AC Black Death?

Hi, so I replaced my 05 R53's AC compressor a while back when it blew a seal somewhere behind the pulley. The previous owner said he had replaced the clutch coil and did some work on it so I figured it was just a mistake that caused the leak.

After installing a new compressor and evacuating/recharging myself, the AC was blowing cold again and all was good for about 2 weeks.

Then the AC went warm and I checked the compressor again to find a black tar-like gunk coming from the face of the pulley as well as noticing the face plate could be shifted from side to side. From what I can research this is referred to as black death.
The system still seems to hold a bit of pressure but I never got a gauge on it. This was all last late summer/early fall. Due to money problems and priorities I put off dealing with it. But now it is summer again and I am miserable....

Any advice on what might have happened and if just replacing the compressor AND (this time) the condenser/drier along with a professional evac/recharge will fix it? I don't want to blow money on parts that will just break again.

Thanks
