Burning oil!!!

I recently got an oil change done at a shop because long story short I stripped the drain plug like an idiot. After I get it back a few days later I noticed that it is blowing a little cloud of blue smoke. It usually does it when I'm sitting at a red light. Other than that it doesn't blue any out the tail pipe. I'm going to check the valve cover later today. Still new to mini so I don't know any common areas I should look into. Any advice would be appreciated.

O.s I'll be calling the shop Monday to find out what oil they used

Probably a coincidence. You might want to check the health of the PCV system.

I have the same problem.. done with any solutions. Every time when I do oil change I have to use any oil stabilizer with engine oil. This can reduce some smoke.

If your getting blue smoke at idle it can be the valve seals. They tend to be done in at 80000 miles or so. High vacuum at idle pulls oil down the valve stem. If you get smoke at higher rpms it could be pcv system. Or I'm way off LOL
