Hey gang! I've recently acquired a sweet Bluetooth borescope for my phone and need to know where to stick it! I am interested in seeing if I have a lot of carbon buildup on my N18 2012 cooper S, but is there a way to feed the scope in without having to completely remove the intake manifold? I don't want to scrape up any internals, and I also want to save time from needlessly dissembling my intake if it can be avoided! Thoughts? Suggestions? Any other places I should poke around with my scope?
Thanks!
Well taking off the intake is the best way I know for that. It’s not too bad really.
you can use it to check your wastegate on your turbo too! Just go in thru the upper O2 sensor bung.
I bought a scope last year and have used it for about 5 minutes. Doubt you will find much on an N18 which seems to be ok carbon wise. Check your ears for wax?

That’s what has kept me from picking one up. I’ve run across a few good sales, but then realized that as neat as they are, and as much as I’d like to have one, I would never use it really. Plus I can borrow one from my neighbor if I had to.

It was actually only $20 and has great video quality. I didn't get it for my car, but realized it has a lot of potential. I've had it 2 months and it gets used pretty frequently! Also, my ears are surprisingly clean...
