I got the head on my 2011 mini cooper s ( n18 engine) back from the shop .. Now I just have one issue.. while looking for a head gasket I see a lot of the 1.20mm and a few of the .90mm.. They just took off a little to clean it up. The shop said they machined 3 out of the possible 20. not sure if that's a common measurement term but they said .90mm should be fine.. what they removed seemed to be equal to a few sheets of paper. Anybody feel that the 1.20mm is needed.

 

the thicker HG is for the JCW.. you have an 's'.. get thinner one.

The gasket thickness is partially what accounts for the JCW's lower compression vs. the MCS.
