Engine Slap when Letting go of the accelerator
Engine Slap when Letting go of the accelerator
Hi guys, I am combating an issue with what I call "engine slap", where when I let go of the accelerator, I can feel the engine snap back. I know generally this happens in first gear, but It is happening to me up into 4th gear as well. I can be at 4k RPM and let go of the gas, and instead of the engine decelerating I can feel a hitch/slap before the car starts to naturally brake.
I have already installed powerflex bushings in the torque arm (small and large). Are my other engine mounts suffering? How can I check?
Thanks.

my first guess was the mounts. Usually the transmission mount comes loos and the tranny starts to hang low. Check that first. the threads should be sticking out about 3/4" of the bolt (roughly).
