Odometer stays on constantly
Odometer stays on constantly
So I have an '04 R53 with 104k. For the past few days I've noticed my odometer light stays on constantly, regardless of key position or whether its in or out, doors closed or not. The battery drain from the small screen is negligible and the car has no issues starting after a day or two without being turned over, so this is by no means an emergency. However with that being said, I know something is wrong, and that bothers me.
So here's a rundown of exactly what's going on:
When I turn the key to the run position, the odometer flashes "test" across the screen, as if I'm holding the trip reset button to clear the oil service interval.
I cannot reset my mileage with the trip reset button. It does nothing no matter how long you hold it.
No matter how full my tank is, the "low gas" red light is always on, rather than the amber color it used to be/normally should be unless the tank is low.
I've checked all the fuses that seem to have anything to do with the guages/dash. It seems to me that the trip reset button may be stuck in, causing it to always be flashing the "test" text when I turn the car on and not allowing me to reset my tank mileage. But I've never heard of this happening nor can I think of why mine may have gotten stuck. It still clicks in and out and doesn't seem to feel any different than before I had the issue. I'd like to exhaust all options before I have to tear into the speedo, so any input would be appreciated. It also may be worth noting that I do NOT have the chronos package, so the speedo is in the center and the only two guages with it are the gas and coolant temp.
Any input helps. Thanks in advance

RE Odometer stays on constantly
Reviving an old thread here bc haven't found any other similar threads w/ solutions & I have a similar issue.
I have 06 R53 JCW w/ chrono gauges.
* trip reset button is stuck/depressed constantly & IS draining the battery because it's in a constant 'test' sequence/mode.
* Will the car operate w/ chrono gauges removed from column & unplugged? (i.e. operate temporarily while I unf@ck the button somehow or get a replacement cluster)
Rgds,
