P0328 - Knock Sensor code

Yesterday driving, my engine warning light came on (yellow). After a few minutes it went off. I pulled the code and got P0328 - Knock Sensor 1 Circuit High (Bank 1 or Single Sensor). It looks like some labor is involved with getting to the sensor even though the part is not hugely expensive. Can I easily test to confirm failure, do I look for some other problem causing the fault, do I just get one and replace?

What yr is your car?

If it was a new car, maybe nothing. I had an 07 justa that kept coding knock sensor.

During a rebuild I discovered a chunk broken off 2 pistons. The pieces were still riding inside rings. Yikes

I'm will be putting my '08 MCS up on a lift to access the knock sensor located on the rear of the block from below. I have an occasional knock sensor code popping up. First thought is a faulty sensor and since this one is inexpensive its an easy way to eliminate it as a possibility.
