Acceptable Running Temp range?

Was sitting in traffic today and my JCW aux temp gauge creeped up to around ~103 degrees.

Ever since i got the car, no matter how I drive it, it hovers around 90 degrees.

Is this something I need to look into?

No lights came up on dash and as soon as I started moving, it went back down to what i'm used to...

Car is a 2013 JCW Clubman with ~13K miles

OEM thermostat temp is ~230f .. the temps you are seeing is perfectly normal.

**the hot temp is the main reason why folks upgrade the intercooler and get a stage1 or 2 ECU flash. The FMIC lowers intake temps, and the ECU flash resets the thermostat point to ~180f. Together, the car will stay much cooler and cool down after running hard takes much less time.

Im running stage 2 with RPM MarioKart tune and Helix Intercooler

I must have not noticed this type of fluctuation but even in similar traffic situations, i've peeked at my temp gauge and have never seen it in this range. Thats the only real reason Im concerned.

I'm going to hook up my Scangauge II tonight so I have a digital gauge as well as the JCW gauge to go by.

I only have ~10mi to sit in traffic.. but on days where its +100f ambient my temps sit ~190-205f depending on how deep im pushing into the pedal when its time to go (AC on of course too). In light traffic on hot days it sits ~180-190f.

HA! I just realized the JCW Gauge is in Celsius.

On normal days i'm at 195F-ish

Today it reached 217f-ish

I'll keep an eye on it and cross my fingers. Did an oil change on the car today. coolant is at proper level. Drive home before oil change was in normal range.
