I have a 2005 S Convertible with 45k. ONLY the (American) driver’s side doesn’t level (it is too high). It goes through the motions of down-up, then back down, but then makes a “grinding sound” and “click-click-click”. The passenger side also makes the clicking sound, but appears to be working OK.

I took the access boot off where the two sets of wires enter (both driver and passenger) and can move the driver’s light assembly (inside the access) up and down freely, where the passenger side will not move. This makes me think something in the drive’s side has broken or come off.

Ideas?
