Help! P2096 Code Diagnosis

Hoping I can get some help from the more knowledgeable forums members.

I recently replaced the fuel filter and installed some new 380cc fuel injectors on mt 03 R53. Car drove wonderfully after and I had no idle or running issues. I have put a few hundred miles on the car with no issues. I was making a trip this weekend and made a rest stop, stopped the car, and when I turned the car back on and I had the SES light. I have a code reader and pulled the following information:

P2096: Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 1

Fuel Sys 1: CL
Fuel Sys 2: N/A
Calc Load: 67.1%
ECT: 203*F
STFT B1: 4.7%
LTFT B1: -2.3%
MAP: 20 inHg
Eng RPM: 3241
Veh Speed: 76mph

I am going through my engine bay to see if I have any intake leaks or loose vacuum lines. I also read that it might be an O2 sensor or exhaust leak. It doesnt sound like I have an exhaust leak (noise wise) but I will look for any black soot at connection points.

Any thoughts based on the above information?

Thanks!

Will

Going to move you to the Stock Problems/Issues section.

How many miles on the car and has the O2 sensors been changed?

Sorry about that and thanks.

Just under 124,000, I am not sure as I bought the car from the original owner only a couple of months ago. I was trying to research how to test the O2 sensor to see if that’s the culprit prior to purchasing a new one.

Rather have you ask a question than ask no question at all.

Thinking there are ways to measure resistance/output of the sensors. Somebody should chime in.

Double check your post catalytic converter O2 sensor, it might have just gotten loose (backed out) this has happened to me.

Motor On!

Thank you for the suggestion. Question about that, is that the O2 sensor towards the end of the header where the cat meets the mid pipe? If so, I believe that gasket might be going out. Could that bad gasket allow enough air in to throw off the O2 sensor?
