Another power steering problem

My PSP went out on my 2003 MCS. It quit working most of the time .Occasionally it would decide to work. I installed a new AAE pump from Oreilly'sAutoParts. Now my problem is the power assist takes about 10 seconds or so to be noticed. I know I should let the car run before I take off, and I do, but that doesnt excuse the delay in assist. The original pump didnt have any delay. What do you all think? I refilled with brand new fluid and have tried bleed the air. Turning the wheel from lock to lock is the only method of bleeding ive heard of. I appreciate any help you may have.
