Ready to replace my Mini's front lower spoiler lip

After 11 years and 190,000 miles I'm ready to replace my Mini's front lower spoiler lip. It looks OK from the front but a while back I saw the bottom of the thing when my car was up on the rack and it's gotten a little chewed up on the lower edge.

Would you (or did you) go aftermarket or stay stock?

Also, what's involved for installing either?

Thanks for reading!

I'm interested in this also......the front spoiler lip on my 03' is getting pretty worn after 15 years. I think an aftermarket lip would look better, but if it's rigid and not flexible like the oem lip is, I think it would only take a little while before it broke off.

I'm on my third lower lip since I got the car in 2010.The one on it was already pretty well chewed underneath and then an errant jackrabbit totally destroyed it so I got one from Penske Parts and it was a very simple replacement.

Since then a parking lot stop and then a pine cone have trashed the next one so number three is going on this coming weekend.I found this one at ECS Tuning, Pelican Parts and a few others have them.

I like the thought of something a bit different but as fast as I go through these things I'm gonna stick with the $55.00 plastic OEM part. It only takes a few minutes to do the fix.

Thanks. I just hit 190K miles and my Mini doesn't have a single door ding or bit of curb rash.

That said, I have managed to pull up too close to some parking piers in the last 10+ years and that's had a nasty effect on that low down front lip. Then one day I realized; you don't have to pull in all the way...you're driving a Mini.

Anyway, I think I'll get mine swapped the next time the oil gets changed.

Thanks again!
