Hi guys. Thinking about picking up another out of town r53 project that apparently has a blown clutch. The guy said he put in the clutch when exiting a hwy and the engine stopped - seemingly jammed as the starter wouldn't turn it over. He removed the belt in case the alt or SC froze, but the starter still won't turn the engine over. It shifts and roll in neutral. ANybody ever have a clutch fail catastrophically in a way the wouldn't let the engine crank over? 120K and good maintenance. r53 trans rarely seem to fail, so..
Ideas? TIA, Ron.

 

Will the motor turn over by hand?

 

Don't know yet. I pick it up tomorrow from out of town. Just wondering what to look for as a start. Maybe something jammed behind the flywheel?

 

I was considering that one also. Looks nice but I already have too many projects going on. what area are you from?
