I've been having a lot of issues with my little Mini... misc repairs here & there which are becoming frequent. Recently left me on the side of the road. It will start & idle fine, slight variation in rpms when idling however when I push the gas peddle it sputters bad and sometimes stalls... I think I've narrowed it down to the Fuel Pump but not 100%.. I was also told the valves could be gummed & need cleaning. I was planning on doing the Wal/Nut blast...but just haven't had time as the car was running ok.....


Thoughts...

 

forgot to mention, I'm not getting a check engine light with this ordeal...

 

Sounds like a HPFP but odd that there is no CEL.

I'd still check for codes, fuel rail pressure, and physical fuel filter condition(actually just replace it if it hasn't been done in a while).

 

what is a good style code reader? I was just going off the check engine light but can't the system store codes and not generate a check engine light??

 

Just go to an auto parts store and ask them to check the codes for you. Chances are youll have misfire codes stored or pending

 

ok...Mini has been running great since the Wal-Nut blast & HPFP replacement. Has more pep than recent memory...doesn't stall at red lights..... thanks...


The past few days it's been very hard to start in the mornings..it turns over 5 to 6 times before starting...almost like its not getting fuel?
