How did I solve rough idle and stalling of my R56 N14 MCS

So, the problem began few month ago with my MINI Cooper S 2008 (58k miles). Starts on cold were very unstable, and a lot of random misfires across all cylinders. Before I decided to further, these are items I have checked/replaced.

- Ignition coils
- Spark plugs
- MAF
- MAP
- Boost leak test
- Head cover

None of those had any effect. I started to think it was related to HPFP that I replaced 5 months back, but I wasn't sure. Here is a video how engine was behaving on cold, and it wasn't fun to drive - especially during stops:

Just to add, engine was spitting a lot of oil from pretty much everywere. The famous turbo supply line, oil pan, oil cooler and crankshaft seal. I decided to do it all myself, so I got all of parts I needed from ECStuning.

List of parts and tools:
- Valve Cover Gasket Set (11127572851)
- Air Filter (13717568728)
- Kit NGK Spark Plugs (12120035531KT2)
- 4x Bremi Ignition Coils (12137575010)
- Fuel filter kit (11252754870)
- M7 Black Billet Aluminum Oil Catch Can Kit (56-3M7303)
- Timing Chain Kit (11314609483KT)
- Accessory Belt (11287566789)
- Heat Resistant Plate (11657634747)
- Exhaust Manifold Gasket W/ Heat Sheild (11627626106)
- Valve Cover (11127646555)
- Oil cooler housing Gasket Set (11428643747)
- Turbo Oil Lines Kit (11657534454KT)
- Detroit Tuned oil supply line
- Intake Rubber Boot (13717555784)
- 4x Intake Manifold Gasket (11617528340)
- Turbo Diverter Valve (11658636606)
- Non Return Valve (11367537692)
- Solenoid Valve (SOLV) Vanos Kit (11368610388KT)
- Oil filter housing gasket set (11428643758)
- Vent Hose valve cover to the lower intake manifold (11157605186)
- x2 Crankshaft Gear (11217588996)
- Crankshaft pulley hub (11237537697)
- Crankshaft seal (11117568264)
- Motul x-cess 8100 5w40 with new oil filter.

- Crankshaft Holder Tool (83300493940)
- Tool for the carbon blaster & Walnut blasting (81292208032)
- Extraction Adapter for walnut blasting (81292208038)
- 1/2" Drive Angle Torque Gauge of Rotation Tester Precise Auto Repair Check Tool
- MINI Cooper Serpentine Belt Tool R56/57/58/59/60/61 (N12/14/16/18 Engines)
- BMW N12 N14 Mini Cooper Engine Camshaft Alignment Timing Tool Set

Few notes on the parts: oil lines kit for turbo came without water bajo bolts, so order them separately. Obviously I didn't need banjo bolts for oil feed line either, because Detroit Tuned came with its own locks. So don't bother with the kit, just get supply line from detroit, and oil return line.

All stuff installed, and walnut job finished. Had a challenge with pulley hub alignment (which I posted in separate thread). So, after all done, here's the result video:

Drives and feels like new.
Feel free to ask any tips or suggestions, now feels like I know the car I will post some more pictures and videos later on.

By the way, many thanks to @PelicanParts.com

I have used only DIY articles located at http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...r_R56_Tech.htm to do all the stuff, and had almost zero issues (except for pulley hub installation).

Well done guys!
