Oil leak

Initial post: 2009 S, oil leak getting onto the exhaust and coming in through the vents. Running fine. I will attempt to repair this after I get another mode of transport.

Having similar issues with a 2009 Non S - tried replacing the O-ring on the vacuum pump. Too early to know if it made a difference. I'd be curious what your findings are.

Same here..just pulled off the downpipe both oil line ( feed and drain) are dry. Vacuum pump was just done with a new one don't see any leaking at cam cover.

Where else do these things leak??

Guess I'll just put new oil lines on anyway (09 with 77K) wash it down just put the DP on and run it a bit to see what's going on :(

Valve Cover or Oil Cooler are some likely culprits.

Just replaced oil filter housing gasket R56 2011 Base, to perform place in service mode, remove heat shields and unbolt cat converter plus exhaust manifold. Oil filter housing bolts are located behind exhaust manifold. Good luck still checking for any futher leakage of oil.

Oil filter housing gaskets ordered. Should have them Monday. Detroit oil line and return tube have arrived, After washing and sitting for 3 days bell housing is wet. If it needs a rear main seal, that is just going to have to wait till I need a clutch.

WTF..I cleaned the whole thing up ready to install. So I'm looking in all the holes to see it's clean. In the hole( second from the bottom) I see something blueish. Flashlight and a probe and all this crap came out. Its like sand the large pieces you can crumble up. Looks like the hole was clogged. BTW there was more stuff than what is in the picture.Any ideas what the hell this is???

Pretty much this.

I had some significant "sediment" buildup in the coolant side of the oil cooler along with part of a OEM water pump impeller (I wondered where that went) which restricted flow through the heat exchanger. I got the major chips out with a scribe and back flushed the rest until it was 100% clear.

If and when I have another oil or coolant leak there I think I am going with an aftermarket oil cooler mounted in front of the condenser.
