I just got of my new '04 MCS, closed the driver door as I turned to face oncoming cars and what do I hear but, a cracking sound as the black windsheild pillar trim splits because the window didn't do its down/up thing. So I get online here do a search and find that door window "resets" are a common issue. It's an hour and a half each way to the dealer just to get get the trim replaced. What a PITA! It would more time efffective to replace it myself so maybe I'll just call Classic Mini and order one. Has anybody had a similar experience?

 

I just had the same problem and am hoping that the dealer won't give me any grief about fixing it. same as you, it's probably an easy replacement if we can find the part
