Driving down the interstate, all was well then Mini stammered and began sputtering.

This just began out of the blue, the car was driving fine then while starting up a grade the car sort of stumbled and blew some smoke out briefly then began to sputter. The engine light came on, it flashes when the motor is under load and solid otherwise. I scanned it but there were no codes present. It ran rougher at low rpm more so than higher rpm and is down on power. I was thinking spark issues but new to mini's so any help would be appreciated.

Ok so I changed the plugs out, 2 looked pretty rough and the other 2 weren't that bad. Cranked car and still not right but at least I have some codes today, not sure why I didn't get them yesterday but here's what I got. PO300 PO301,2,3,4 P1497 B2AAA

Had the mini towed to the dealer and the diagnostic came back that it was a exhaust valve in the number 3 cylinder. Has anyone else had an issue with valve breakage? I'm getting suspicious about this dealership.

Bummer, that's going to be more expensive than replacing the HPFP. Lot of threads on NAM about cracked/broken exhaust valves..
