New guy, weird headlight issue
Hi, folks, looking for some insight, trying to help a friend. Motorcycles are my thing, but I've found with my bikes that forums are often more knowledgeable than my dealer.
2012 Mini S
My buddies headlight, driver's side went out, he got a bulb, stock halogen, replaced it in the Autozone parking lot, reinstalled in bucket, no worky. Went back in and got another bulb, checked to make sure it lit before he inserted it into the bucket, as soon as he inserted it into the bucket it went out. I met up with him, I happened to have a bulb, pulled the plug and put my bulb in, lit fine. I let it burn a couple minutes, wiggled all the wires on the connector, no flicker or anything. As soon as I put it in the bucket and twisted it to lock it, it went out. Wiggled every wire, nothing. Pulled it out of the bucket, wiggled every connection, no flicker, it no longer worked. I now had both bad bulbs, filaments look intact on both, wires on connector seem tight and good. There is nothing in the shell that has anything to do with electricity, the tabs you twist are built into the bulb, not the connector, I'm completely stumped. Seems to defy logic.
