Its a long drive to the BMW service shop, so I'm looking to buy online, but I'm having difficulty finding the plastic end cap for the drivers side rear chrome strip.
The plastic end cap for the chrome trim strip just rear of the drivers door is missing exposing very sharp edges that has already damaged my wife's clothing.
Please look at the attached photos and advise what this part is called and where I can purchase it.
I have the same problem and the answer is always the same-try the local junk yard but there are none of these cars there. Lazy people in the parts dept don't feel the price is worth their time.
ISAMIN
I called all the salvage yards in my area and none have Mini's in the yard.
At least I now know what the part is called.
I guessed that I'd need to buy the complete trim, but $45 is a bit steep, just to get a small piece of plastic, but if it damages my wife's clothing that might cost a little more.
It's only sold with the moulding. It's not the parts guys or the dealer it's how it's sold. Sometimes it doesn't make sense but they don't have an option.
I would check and make sure the other side and the ones on the back around the trunk are good. Sometimes i have seen these at junk yards all twisted up, so if you go that route make sure the clips and the metal is not wrinkled.
