Is the cold climate intake manifold a direct swap?
Hey guys, my R59's intake broke in the collision. I'd like to replace it with the cold climate version due to a significant price difference. Anyway, will I need any extra hoses or anything to install the intake, or is a direct swap? Thanks
Pretty sure the new hose connects to the passenger side valve cover PCV port. Not sure what to do with the other end of your current hose --- you might need a "blanking plug" --- maybe another $10 from your local dealer. Audi and Peugeot also use them. Maybe ECS knows?

Thanks, guys. I'll do some more searching and find the conversion thread.
It will fit the R55-R59 N14 Engines. The N18 valve cover has the port for the PCV coming off the other side only. So Its will fit, its just blocking off the cold climate version PCV N14 engine port on the intake manifold. I have seen anyone block that off converting to the N18 set up. Most people are using it on a N14 engine as a fix with a catch can. Right now the intake manifold are on BO from MINI. Once they come off BO we should get some in, with the very cold temps this year we sold a lot.
I've done this conversion and it is a direct replacement with no other parts required. Talked to a MINI tech who believes that this intake reduces intake valve coking...can't remember his explanation, but it made sense at the time. One thing to note is that there is some concern about degradation of the rubber runners and the nylon T's...I've had my intake manifold on for about 20,000 miles and a casual inspection doesn't show any problem.
