This is a new one for me. I tried to start my car last night and Everything was normal until I heard the starter kick like normal then everything shut off. I mean everything! The electric door lock doesn’t even work. I haven’t checked the battery yet because the trunk is locked and I didnt pull up the rear seat to pull the latch yet.

Now the only thing that flickers when I turn the key is my seatbelt light and it only flickers for a moment each time I turn the key.

I assume its most likely a fuse or relay but I checked in the engine compartment and did not find any bad fuses. Is there a common issue here I’m not aware of?

I would start with getting at the battery and testing it.

 

Yes need to check the battery and then the starter itself

 

That was the issue. Battery terminal was making a false contact. Im relieved it was that simple!
