Mini R52 Rough shift from first to second
Hi All!
Recently bought an R52 (2005). Been enjoying the car however there is an issue with the gearbox that has had me scratching my head. While shifting from first to second, it seems the gears grind and it is difficult to get it into gear. All of the other gear shifts are smooth as silk. Only the second gear has this issue. It occurs mostly at higher engine RPM. I had the shifter linkages greased but that did not help much. I do know that my clutch is due for replacement soon...could this be related to a bad friction disc? or is the synchro on the second gear going bad?
