Xenon Headlight options

I have one bad Xenon headlight and the other one has a dim lense. The adjuster is broken on the passenger one. I am thinking about just replacing them but don't have a lot of money.
From what I read the standard headlights won't replace them. What are my options?

The dealer quoted me $265 to install just 1 xenon bulb. I just ordered a xenon bulb online for about $100, and will do it myself. I've seen them as cheap as $49, but I don't know how good those are. Just save up to get another xenon bulb. I bet there are conversion kits to change it to a regular halogen type of bulb, but I bet it's more expensive and more difficult to do. Look at websites like Pelican Parts and Mini Mania for xenon bulbs for your year car.

we have been able to just plug in our black headlights and use them as a direct replacement.

Otherwise get a good poishing kit and polish the lens out.

Mine has the washers. Do you have a set with them?

Tonight I borrowed a headlight from a 'normal' R53. The ones with the halogen bulbs. It only had the 3 big pins on the connector. I checked mine "with Xenon" and I had the same 3 wires and 3 or 4 smaller wires/pins.
I said the heck with it and plugged it in. It seemed to work just fine.

I don't know what the smaller wires do but will it hurt anything running normal headlights?

There's a good chance it will burn it the ballast.
Look into a pair of HID'S from ddmtuning, work just fine, and just bulbs are $15-25 a pair

Thanks for the reply but one of mine has a broken adjuster and the headlight just points down low all the time. LIghts work fine.

Oh sorry, I though it was just a bulb.
The least expensive option would be to open up the housing (think Joey mod) and see if you can put everything back in place, quite often the bulb mount itself just pops out of it's tabs, and can just be popped back in. If not, maybe you could just rig it in place, no more self adjust, but wouldn't cost you a dime to do.
Good luck
