Oil Pressure Control Valve Codes

Using the Carly app I ran a diagnostics on my car and found a few codes. 33FF and 33FD which point to a short circuit and high pressure event with the oil pressure control valve. I cleared these when I first got my reader and they immediately came back. I thought maybe the high pressure was due to having a very old oil and filter so I just changed those and cleared the codes again, so far only the short circuit warning has come back. Does anyone else have experience with these codes and should I be worried about my oil pump or the pressure control valve?

The solenoid is a restriction, so even when failed it's going to fail in the full open state.

Have you had the oil control solenoid TSB repair done? If not it could be one of a few things: The solenoid is in fact faulty, the leak has caused electrical fault, or the leak has reached the DME and is a costly fix.

You could test it quickly by purchasing the control solenoid and just plugging it in to the harness which is on the outside of the oil pan and see if the fault clears, if so then replace the solenoid in the pan.

I just got the car so I have no idea if the TSB has been done. Actually didn't know that was a thing until you brought it to my attention hah. I did call a couple shops but each one told they'd only be able to tell if it was done if they were the ones to do the work, and that a TSB isn't a warranty item so I'd be footing the bill anyways. I'll crawl under the car this weekend and see if I can see it seeping from the valve (not even really sure where I'm looking for this).

I had it inspected before I purchased and the shop said they thought it might have a slightly seeping oil pan, after just doing the oil change I will say it was slightly wet down there but nothing like a seeping pan from my experiences. Drain plug did seem a bit loose though so idk. What's involved in replacing the solenoid? Dropping the pan, anything more drastic?
