Non hydraulic motor mount?

The car is a 08 Convertible S. I thought all these cars have hydraulic motor mounts on the passenger side but mine just has a big chunk of rubber. Is this something that was aftermarket or a change in design for the last year of the generation one? I know I saw a video of an 07 convertible S and it had the hydraulic one.

Apparently this is the mount that is on my car: https://www.waymotorworks.com/early-...4-r50-r53.html
I wonder if that is why the car vibrates at idle? Maybe it is much stiffer than the original? According to this site this mount isn't supposed to be used with the newer gen ones. Anyone have any input on this?

Yup, that mount on your car is an after-market mount that will definitely stiffen up the ride on the MINI.

The stock mount for your car is p/n#22116763259, and looks like the one below.

I'd go for a non-OE (MINI branded) Lemforder or REIN part, that would set you back about $50, rather than the $130 that MINI charges for the exact same piece.

Its definitely aftermarket and will definitely add vibration and noise in the cabin. Swap it out for a lemforder or oem if it bothers you and dont mind a little more sloppy pedal/acceleration feel. Some say it also helps with smoother shifting?!

Yes that is our older version of the TSW mount. as you can see you can adjust it a little with the turnbuckle, but it is still a solid poly mount is it will be harder than the stock mount.
You could either go back to a stock mount to make it less harsh.

or upgrade to our newer TSW mount
