3rd Power Steering Pump?

Hello--

2004 Mini Cooper S here. I just lived through the whole mess with the fan not shutting off a week or so back (of course this happens to me a couple months after my 13 year "in service" date so Mini won't fix it under warranty, but I digress). New fan, new pump, life was good for almost a week. Power steering cuts out again. Check those near impossible to get to fuses, double check some other things, still no power steering. Thought maybe the replacement pump was faulty, so ordered ANOTHER new one. It didn't want to work either. Found a lot of damage on the strut mounts, replaced them, tinkered around with the power steering pump some more. Still not working.

Any other ideas?

Did you verify there is power at the pump?

+1 check for power to the pump and the fuses. Also, there is a large fuse that runs the pump.
