Persistent wheel sensor code

I've got the trifecta of lights and keep pulling a 5D93/not present abs-dsc wheel speed sensor, front left. I've changed the sensor with new OEM wheel sensors twice. The harness does not look frayed and the connection between the sensor and harness plug is solid. Any ideas? Next step for me would be to try a OE sensor, I think. No other codes.

Thinking you can test the sensors. Thinking that somebody in the past replaced one and the replacement turned out bad.

If you suspect the non-OE sensor you bought, why not swap the left with the right and see?

It is possible the tone ring is no good, rust, or damaged by shade tree mechanic. I am not familiar with what the Mini one looks like.

I'm going to switch out the right and left sensors as you suggest. Makes the most sense before buying an OE one. From the reading that I've been doing, it may come to a wheel bearing replacement.

Just a follow-up. Switched the OEM sensor to the other side and got a bad sensor code on the other side. Paid $60 for a Siemens/VDO sensor and no codes now.

I just replaced both my sensors and it was good for a day and trifecta back. Is there anything more serious that could cause the trifecta? Or am I just looking at one or both of the new sensors being bad?

If you used name-brand sensors, then it would be wheel bearings next.
