Blown Engine

I blew my engine 6 months ago. It's been in the shop since. The new engine has been in 2 weeks in. But no one can figure out why it's been running rough. Now getting to the point. My mech is telling me that a specialist is telling him it's a stratisfied start up. Has anyone ever heard of this. And knows if someone that can deactivate it. I've tried a few people already no luck.

What codes are stored?

Was this a junk yard engine or new replacement?

If it's a used engine it seems like every single one we get in needs the VANOS solenoid either cleaned or replaced, and that is a component that can cause rough idles, low power, etc.

Get the codes pulled first and report back.

Hey guys gotta bare with me.. I'm going by what the shop is telling me. There are no codes coming up. That's why it's taking so long for them to figure it out. I've had it at 2 different shops. I know between both they been thru the motor up and down inside out. The motor came from Florida. It is a use engine with 30000 on it.Again the shop was told it's the Stratified Startup. And it needs to be shut off.
The dealer had put a new lpf it was under warrant. All the fuel stuff has been checked out by both shops. The vanos was also replaced.
. I'm in South Carolina. MB

If the shop has the right tools, they wouldn't be "guessing" what the issue it.

Take the car from them, and let us know how the car behaves. post a short video and we can probably get it fixed instead of these guys!!!

i had a friend (NAM member) whose mini was making a ticking noise like a spun bearing. two shops told him he needed a new engine. brought it to my house and guess what was the "spun bearing" issue was?

A

BELT!!!

$10 fixed a "spun bearing" sound...lol
