N14 High Pressure Fuel Pump

So I bought a Mini. Specifically a 2009 Clubman S. One of the things I wish I had known beforehand is about the N14 hpfp going out... That being said I am on the road to recovery and have been researching the heck out of the issue. I am slightly confused however and am hoping y'all can help clarify. What is the latest HPFP part no./revision and has the issue been resolved? The car has 130,000 miles so it's slightly outside of the MiniNA extended warranty - would it be pointless to call to see if they would still cover it? Obviously the worst they could say is no but has anyone had an experience where Mini did cover it? Any help is appreciated!!

Some of the most recent threads I could find haven't been active within 5 years. With that they are referencing prices to purchase the part at $300-500 where at I'm looking at ~$1000

Edit: Soo, being a new member I just realized that I posted in the wrong section... My bad..

give the dealer a call, it never hurts to ask. worst case scenario, buy a used pump from ebay for cheap. Not all pumps were bad, it is hit or miss, i think.
