Now the Battery

I was working on my thermostat housing early last week, another blown running light, and then the rear brakes this weekend. When I was working on the brakes I had the hatch open as a desk to have my laptop available (also streaming some music while I worked). With the hatch open, the interior lights were on for about 4 hours. I went to do the brake service reset and I kept getting wacky diagnostic menus. I then went to crank the car and got a click and nothing else.

I tested the battery and it was at 11.2 volts so I put a charger on the battery. The charger showed the battery had about 30% of a charge and it would only charge it to 94%. I put my 2 amp smart charger and let it run overnight and it showed full charge the next morning and the wife drove it to work and back home. My wife told me the battery icon was lit on the way home. I jumped in the car about a half hour after she got home and it didn't have enough power to start the car.

I now have a new battery from Costco at $110. I will be headed to Way Motor Works in the next few days to have it coded for the new battery along with a few other software items that I have wanted to change. This car will be fine for a few months and then a series of things will fail in a short time frame.
