right side latch which locks the roof is not working
Hello all
when i tried to open my top today on my 2008 R52, i can open the sun roof without problem however when i pressed the button again to open the top, i heard a snapping sound and the right side of the locking latch didnt work. the left side disengaged and tried to open so i guess all motors working fine..
i have been searching in the forum to see whats wrong and i guess is a broken cable wire to the latch? i could not find any videos to this fix and honestly can i buy parts to fix it myself?
thanks... i have 125k miles on the clock..

Hello,
I have a r52 with over 275+ K now. Yes those front latches can break. Check the cables first just to be sure. The Sunroof slides front to back with no binding then the cables are fine.

Check this thread out for all the info on those front locking catches:

Welcome. Good, now you know. Clean the rails after you take them out and then hit them with a little grease on the slider parts.
