Decreased power/response????

New to site, and HAPPY to find it!!!

Car: 2011 Clubman S with stage 1 JCW, 2nd owner, bought with 25k miles 80k currently, Manual transmission.

Had a little accident with a medium sized dog that damaged right front of car. Had it repaired at a local shop that is highly recommended by insurance agent (personal friend), but upon return, had a noticeable difference in throttle response in all gears, noticeable decrease in power (to me), and no longer am able to hear blow off valve (which was very noticeable to me before).

Insurance wants to make it right, but needs to know how, or what the problem is.

Took it to the dealership (4 hour drive one way). They found that they hadn't replaced external thermostat, and thought that may help. I requested them to test drive and they reported that "it is running VERY well".

Still felt the same to me, decreased response, less power, no blow off valve....
ANY INPUT OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT!!! Kind of limited on access to dealership due to distance, but will be in that area in about a month.

Thanks!!!!

"External thermostat"? Are they referring to the "Ambient Air Temp" sensor? It's located in the damage area. A flaky stage 1 might seem like it's "running very well" to a service mechanic. Talk to your local shop and verify the condition of the AAT sensor. Any codes being thrown --- CEL?

I would check for wire damage in the affected area. A wire may have become dislodged from a connector, or you may have a short to ground. OR, the battery reset took out your tune.

Yes, that's correct, and that did help air conditioner that I had previously figured wasn't recharged properly.

Thanks for the replies, I will take back to the shop and ask if they can check for any codes being thrown and will also call the dealership to see if they checked to see if the tune remained in tact.

Keep them coming fellas!!!
