Power Steering Pump Replacement

I just wanted some info on this

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-atlantic...fan/7000k~aae/

Does anyone have good or bad reviews about Atlantic Automotive Engineering?

Unfortunately for me I missed the 10 yr 100k covered by warranty.

Have you checked with the dealer?
Just call them to make sure your vin isn't still covered, I had my '05 done late last year at 213k

I may be wrong, but I thought the steering pump recall for the early cars was for 13 years &/or 130,000 miles. You might just squeak in.
Hoses are not covered & the dealer will likely claim they need to be replaced for about $400. The 'O' rings are about 50cents each..............

The 13 years, 150,000 miles was before it became an official recall with NHTSA si time and mileage shouldn't matter now. Here's some info on the recall from NHTSA.

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/201...5V660-7070.pdf

Here's the link to the MINI page to check if your car is subject to the recall:

Thanks for the Info, I checked the link you sent, my car is not one of the ones that have the power steering failure. The problem I have is crappy electronics, not a failure of the unit per say.

You must have an "06 or later 1st gen. You probably are having the same problem as the recalled pumps, but for some unknown reason the recall stops at '05. This also happened with the passenger seat occupancy sensor. That stops at '06 even though some 2nd gens are having the same issue.

If they are in fact leaking, which most of them are at this age, then air is also entering the hydraulic system making its way to the PS Pump making it work harder. Not repairing them means you can kiss that new pump good bye if not done as recommended...
