Tach wonky after valve cover gasket repair.

Hello all, I recently changed the valve cover gasket on my 2007 Cooper base. Ever since the tach has been jumping around, freezing, and generally wonky. I assumed it was a sensor connection, so I made sure they were all correct, still wonky. I thought maybe a cam position sensor, but there are no CEL's. I read if it was something with that type of sensor it would trigger a light. Any thoughts?

It was working fine before the repair, just leaking oil. I wouldn't think a bad gasket would cause that issue. It definitely seems sensor related. I'm gonna try and replace one cam sensor and see what happens.

Check that you did not pump or cut the wires in the main harness near the thermostat housing.

I remember this plug well, I did break one of the clips... But it is plugged back in. I'll check it for fit and tightness as well as the wires tonight. If that is the issue, am I totally boned to get that replaced?
