Blue smoke after long drive.

Hello fellow mini owners,

My mini started blowing white/blue smoke from the exhaust after a long slow drive with the AC on. Stopped the car and let the car cool down and checked coolant level. Thinking it was the head gasket. Coolant level was OK. Started the car again and no smoke appeared again.
There is no white residue on oil cap so I believe it must be oil.
Leading me to think it is either the exhaust seals or the turbo oil seals. Or it could be the PCV valves. Anyway to check which one?
I also hear wierd knocking sounds from the rear after I stop the car. Any ideas whats wrong?

Blue is usually oil. White is more likely coolant.

How often do you add oil? That will tell you a lot, though the n14 engine is known for using oil. I would consider doing a compression test to get an idea of the condition of the piston rings..

I change oil every 6-7k miles. Dont think it loses that much oil anyway.

Head gasket seal is notorious for going early in the n14 engine and a big culprit in he carbon buildup issue. That might be part of it. Also, if you recently changed the oil, it could be overfilled.
