was it meant to flash

2004 MC, the little what seems to be the alarm led in/on the top center of the dash.....is this meant to flash and is it for the alarm. My " not sure what this thing is suppose to do " does not...

With near 10 million option variations possible in ordering a Gen 1 MINI, a picture would go a long way towards getting an answer.

ah the dash "button" I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about, no it's not meant to flash as far as I know. I can't remember what it's for, but neither of my R53's have had it, my dad's did though, which makes me think it was part of the luxury package.

There was no such dash light in the original 2004 MC. It must be something installed by a previous owner (perhaps an aftermarket alarm). Please post a photo.

My bad, I misread the original post and thought that the OP said he has a flashing light on the dash. As MINIAC posted, it is a solar sensor.
