Revs up down at idle only after 10 minute drive

Good day all, Ive had my 06 mini S since 2012. for the past year it has begun to simply rev itself while at stops or in neutral after 110 minutes of driving. All works well except for this annoying issue. Can anyone assist. I am sure and hope its a simple sensor of sort. As mentioned, it runs great except for this annoying little issue.

I thank you all.

Resetting the throttle adaptations would be a good place to start provided you have access to a good code reader / scanner of course. I assume check engine light is not illuminated?

Thank you....Actually, the check engine light has been on since i first purchased with 105k miles. after several trips to mini dealer and the lead tech actually keeping for a week, they could never figure out why light would stay on. I can have the the codes ran with reader...as mentioned , when Im driving no issues, no revving up down just normal..only when at stop and idle
