Manual key-in-door lock not working

  • Lock/unlock with remote works fine.
  • Unlock from inside using door handle works fine.
  • Central toggle lock/unlock works fine.

So, all power locking is ok.

BUT-- put key into outside handle lock-- key turns side-to-side but will not lock/unlock.

I searched a lot and found a lot of electric actuator problems but nothing regarding this apparent mechanical issue...

Anyone have any ideas on what to look for?

Thanks!

Are you moving it all the way to the right and left, because the lock does not get used itself they tend to stick. Spray some lubricant in there and try the key all the way to the left and right again. Its need to go all the way 90 degrees to each side.

Thank you for your reply; yes, the key turns fully to 90 degrees in both directions. It turns easily with little resistance and nothing happens with regard to the lock mechanism.

See #3 on the lock itself. On the diagram. On the back of that part, there is a little rod with numbs

, as it turns it moves the lock actuator/motors and lock the door.

Door lock motors.

It might have popped off or the motors part tab is broken. You have to look into that door cavity/

Ah, yes. I planned on dismantling it to see if I could find any disconnects; this gives me something to look for, thank you.

Is this the part with the green receiver? 51200556768
If that were replaced, it would not affect the key, right?

Yes its linked above in the door lock thread. It works with the key system, look behind the door card/ liner when you move the key and see if that arm is attached and moving. Is so it might just be the lock.
