Steering Sound

What I think is a steering related sound anyways - if you move the steering wheel, you hear wurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - wurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Does this mean something in the steering is on the way out?

I get a strange quick squeak on slow sharp turns in our parking garage when leaving work. It sounds like it's coming from the steering column. ???

I can only hear it if the radio (when it works right) is turned down - but it sounds like a motor. Maybe the cooling fan? Power Steering motor? I have not crawled under to look but there are no leaks and fluid looks ok.

The powersteering pump makes a whirring noise even when working normally, but the pump may be getting weak if it's still the original pump.

What year is your car? It may still carry a powersteering pump warranty with the dealer, but the pump has to fail for it to be covered.

So maybe it's working normally then? Car is 10/06 hardtop S with 82k on the clock. Not sure if it's the original or not. Is there a way to tell if there's an issue?

Did you check the power steering fluid level?
