Airbag light ON - Cannot access data
My 2003 Mini Cooper (base model) got flooded due to the sunroof drain being clogged. I had about 2" of water and had to replace the headliner (not fun). Had to take out the seats and lift up the carpet to squeeze/vacuum/dry the "sponge" foam underneath the carpet. I was careful not to apply power with the seats out - the battery was disconnected.
After placing everything together and connecting the power, the airbag light stayed illuminated. So I rechecked the connections under the seat then connected my SRS reader, and it did not even turn on. I connected a regular OBD reader and that read the car just fine (but it can't access the SRS system). Thinking it was a problem with the SRS reader , I bought another one and it is not turning on either...
(btw - the SRS reader worked fine previously; I purchased it 3 years ago from Bavarian Dominator when I had an airbag light - it was the connections under the seat and the main airbag connector was not connected - WTF... connected them and the SRS reader reset the light and I have had no problems until now)
Anyone have any ideas here? I am using the tool in accordance with the instructions. The airbag module in the center column was not wet, and I did not have an airbag light even when it is flooded... The ECU on the right Passenger side was not under water either, I took off the connections to it and nothing was corroded (couldn't get the bottom one off though... anyone know how to take off the large green connector at the bottom?) The ECU also had the water cover on. And the fuse for the SRS system was also good.
Thanks in advance.
