I'm dying open them and see if there's any oil on it before I swap it out with a rebuilt one......BUT the plugs are stuck......would heating them with a torch hurt anything?

Any other suggestions on how to get them out?

I mean they are STUCK.........

 

Extractor got the pulley side one and look how much oil.was in it....

 

Got the pto side out....not much oil in there...

 

Can anyone tell me where to get two oil fill plugs for my supercharger? I really butchered The Originals up

 

Thats probably not too bad for the pulley side; capacity is 4.9 oz. PTO side is 1.4 oz; how much did you get? And how many miles on your s/c?

 

200k on the SC.


I'd say less than 1oz.

 

Man, finding these fill plugs is like looking for a needle in a haystack.....

Have you check local hardware stores in their specialty fastener section? Or tried contacting Eaton?

 

Haven't talked to Eaton yet but, I went to a local hardware. Their fastener section is the biggest I've ever seen........ no luck.....

 

If you search here, there are directions on installing a dipstick setup on the PTO end. That would eliminate the need for one of the plugs. In that post it also tells you what the thread pitch is, may help you track down what you need. Oh, check grainger and mcmaster-carr.

Here's a source for magnetic drain plugs for the supercharger. They are pricey, but the magnet for the water pump gear drive end seems like a good idea:

That says 'Roots' supercharger; are Roots and Eaton interchangeable?

"Roots" is a two-scroll design-type of supercharger. Eaton is a manufacturer of Roots design superchargers.

I saw the magnetic ones and the ones I can buy from Germany and China.

I ended up filling the plugs I have with................JB WELD and then I cut a nice screwdriver slot in them.....

Anyone know the torque setting for these plugs?
