My '05 convertible with Getrag box has developed the failed trans mainshaft sound. (Not the clutch, that was done last month.) I'm thinking of putting a rebuilt in. Do any of you out there know of a source for rebuilts?

You might be able to Google transmission rebuild shops in your area. You might also have some luck sourcing a used transmission from www.car-part.com. I'd also search for MINI indy repair shops in your area as they might have spares laying around their shops. You can use this site here to help you source one: http://www.minirepairshops.com/. http://www.minitransmissions.com/ Will ship a rebuilt unit to your house. Not sure what a Getrag runs but a Midlands is $1000.00. I think the Getrag may be cheaper. I have had good luck with my Midlands that I bought from them. They are are based in the U.K. but take good care of their U.S. customers. I think they list them on Ebay. I found that sending them an email through Ebay got a quicker response.
