Hi, I have what I believe is an R52 (2008 non S convertable). This past weekend I tested the structural integrity by hitting a deer. Sadly the deer was killed instantly but the Mini fared quite well except for the headlight. The headlight in question is a Xenon with the washer pump. My question (since I just reduced the insurance down after paying it off last week) do I have to replace it with the Xenon? I'm sure I'm making purist cringe but I found a pair of Helix/Depo projector headlights on Ebay and I would like to install these and bypass the washer pump. The description says its for 05-08 R50,52,53 1st generation only halogen. I'm not positive but I believe my car is a R52 but I know nothing of the generation. I'm not concerned with the washer, just the electrical. Is there anything different in the headlight circuitry that would prevent these from working? tia
The xenon headlights are hella brand...the OEM...you can get them for much less on Amazon than from MINI...
Wiring is really different....so you might need to get creative to convert to halogen.
Its can be done and you just undo the headlight washer pump wire or the relay.
Here is the Depo / helix lights and yes you can go back to xenon with the conversion if you want. I put them on my Hot Orange MCC xenon fitted / wired MINI and they worked the same.
