05 R53 Con. Rod Bolts Question

Did some piston work and was told to replace my Con. Rod bolts so I did but I was told wrong spec, i was told 37 ftlb. Found out later that it's 15 plus 90 degree. I did a test with a old rod and rod bolt and the torque to yield is a little more torque then the 37 ftlb. My question is can I pull them out and retorque them the right way since they wernt fully torqued the first time, or just leave them in and just torque them down a little bit more, or buy new ones. Really hoping not to buy new ones cause some guy told me wrong spec

I would think just torque to the 15 +90, they haven't been over torqued, and you're not taking them out.

It's a question of risk. And your tolerance for it. I think I would loosen and tighten to spec, but that's me. Can you live with cratering the engine if one comes loose?
