So I purchased a 2007 Cooper S about 2 months ago and the right side mirror is beginning to rattle pretty loud. What do you guys suggest I do? Bring it to a shop and have it replaced? If so, how expensive do you think it'll cost me? I thought I could ignore it but its starting to drive me crazy.

 

Is the mirror firmly attached to the door?

 

Is it the actual mirror that's rattling? The outside covering on my justa rattles like a ****.

 

It looks attached firmly..I checked for its tightness and I think it is something on the inside that is rattling...freaking annoying.

 

I really can't tell..it looks like the mirror itself when i'm driving but it could be something else inside.

 

The exterior mirror has a total of three serviceable parts, the mirror cover, mirror glass and the complete mirror. My mirror covers were rattling like crazy -- popped the covers off (carefully, using plastic molding removal tools) and inserted some firm foam bits into a few key areas, giving some extra tension to the cover clips, and it has gotten better. Not perfect, but better.
