Hello. I ordered one with this same description
off of eBay and I got a DVD with the BMW/MINI
TIS (what the MINI techs use) and it was for the
first gen only. The seller offered to refund my money but I told him it was only $10 and where can I get the 2 gen DVD? He'd didn't have it so I bought the Bentley manual. I had no luck. Please share if u do find the real deal. Thanks.

 

What was it like? Was it comprehensive & complete? The ebay one.

 

It was the authentic BMW/MINI TIS but only for the 1 gen 2002-2006. But yeah it was their software. I loaded it and it works but doesn't apply to my 2011 JCW so I didn't use it much.

Exactly. Good point. Agreed. Does not look like the TIS. Tons of scams out there.
Email the seller and ask for a sample screenshot.
If he doesn't reply move on.

 

What the vendor is selling isn't the TIS, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that there exists a different service manual besides TIS or Bentley. You should ask for a screenshot that shows it covers your model year.

The TIS service manual software was distributed on discs until about 2007, and that's how copies ended up on eBay. After 2007, BMW made TIS a service accessible only online (https://www.minitis.com/) and it was no longer possible to have a copy that you can install on your own computer.

 

look close at the last paragraph reference to v6 engines

 

I did msg 2 different ones and haven't received a response from either one.

 

Tough to beat Bently manuals....they are pricey but generally very complete
