Misfire

Hey all, I have a 2011 Countryman S All4 and over the past couple of months it randomly misfires when started. This only lasts about 15-45 seconds and then it clears up and runs fine. Sometimes it will throw a MIL and others not. The codes are either a misfire code and sometimes the P15DF code along with the good ol' "Engine Malfunction - Reduced Power" warning, but after shutting off the car and restarting it, it clears. I've heard rumors about high-pressure fuel pumps and carbon buildup. I've changed the plugs, added Zmax to the oil and run a crap ton of Seafoam through it by adding it to the gas. I had to start throwing big bucks at it randomly replacing the fuel pump ($1350 is what the MINI dealer wants to change it.) My closest MINI dealer is 2.5 hours away, so I am open to any advice. Has anyone else had this problem? Like I said, it's random and the car runs just fine after it does it on the initial start up when its not starting normal.

I doubt I have an answer, but knowing the exact codes and mileage might help figure it out.

P15FD, P0300, cylinder 3 misfire code and the carbon code. Sometimes there are other cylinder misfire codes P0200 or P0100.... and the mileage is 65K

Have you swapped around the coils , clear codes , then see if it changes cylinders, if so it a bad coil.

The N18 engines don't have the carbon issue that much , but it could happen, I would check the coil first , then pull intake if that does not work. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-cleaning.html
