Hit a puddle

It was raining heavy last night on my way home and I didn't see the small puddle on the road. Not that it was a big deal at first because I didn't have any problems besides a little hydroplaning for a brief second. I would guess the water was about an inch deep and I hit it at 45mph on the passenger side.

Everything was ok until about a mile up the road I had to stop at a red light. When I started going, I had a very noticeable exhaust drone and vibration starting at 2500 rpms. This lasted from 1st to 5th gear but another mile down the road when I had to slow again, it was gone.

Any ideas on what may have happened? When I got home I checked inside the air box and I couldn't feel or see any signs of water. Like I mentioned earlier, the water was hit by the passenger side of the car. I don't recall water coming into the area of the hood where the air enters so I wouldn't think water was sucked into the intake.

Everything seems to still be fine this morning.

Don't worry about it, the car can handle a few inches of rain. Just don't go make a habit of fording rivers

This is why it is good to keep the engine running if you ever wash the engine. The first time I cleaned the engine I had a little idle drop but it was ok. One trip up the road and the mini was good to go.

go go magic mini!!!

Some sensor got wet. I suggest using a good amount of dielectric grease on the connectors to protect them from water, if you are worried.
